It always feels like I'm in captivity or something when school starts. It's like my freedoms are restricted. I have obligations and need to be certain places at certain times. It's not the coolest thing every. However, I'm bored. So it's OK. I like to learn something and my classes should be interesting.
I have four 400+ level classes, and a very pathetic 100 level geography class. I'm not so good with the science thing. Two of my upper division classes are journalism classes, so those should be nice. One is an English class and the other is a Holocaust and Genocide class, so I should be fairly entertained all semester.
On top of that I have my two jobs and the Sparks Tribune should be busy. High school sports will be in full swing - therefore so will I.
But no matter. I had a fairly decent weekend, up on my feet for the most part.
My mom came to visit me on Saturday and we picked up some books and she went to Walmart with me which was nice. I had a lot of stuff to get so I got something accomplished.
I also cleaned my bathroom, put away my laundry and tried to organize myself.
Then Wes came home from work and I made him a wonderful spaghetti dinner with a candle and sparkling cider. (Aren't I sweet and romantic?)
Then he took me to see the Mummy, which was pretty good. I love the yetis!!!!!
Today I slept in as much as I could, but I'm sick of sleeping so I got up around 9:15 a.m. Actually, a woodpecker woke me up around 6:30 a.m. and I want to kill the little bastard. Not really, because I'm not mean to animals, I love animals, but I was not a happy camper. Nope Nope.
So after I got up and ate and Wes left for work Jess and I went to get pedicures, but the place was full. So we both needed more books for school so we went back to UNR. We checked out the Knowledge Center and grabbed our books. I had made Wes lunch so I took that to him (yeah I'm awesome) and he activated our gym passes, so we got a lot accomplished in one little trip.
Then we went to the mall. I think I have a shopping problem. First we went to Buckle. I had never shopped there before...but I think I will from now on. My bank account will not like that idea. I bought jeans, a pair of shoes and a cute top. All of which the guy who was helping me picked out. I didn't have to pick out anything for myself which was nice.
Then we went and at at Wetzel's Pretzels (YUM!). But we didn't really find anything else at the mall. We went to Old Navy and I didn't spot anything instantly so we left and went to get our pedicures which was nice and relaxing.
Next we went to Kohls were I tried on a few ridiculous dresses that didn't do anything for me. I did get another cute top...and another cute pair of shoes. Oops.
Then I made the mistake of suggesting we go to Famous Footwear, where, guess what? I found another cute pair of shoes. Yes -- I'm a shoe-aholic. I know it. You know it. We all know it. The statement that I remind people, and sort of look like, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) in Sex and the City does have a little validity. Journalist. Shoe freak. It all works.
Then we went to Safeway and bought some porkchops so Jess could make dinner. I also bought a six pack of Newcastle beer for Wes. It's his favorite, and I knew it'd make him happy. Plus it was my first time buying alcohol.
Jess cooked delicious pork chops and friend rice. Now I'm just sitting here typing away like a mad woman. I'm bored.
I have to work a bit in the morning and only have one class tomorrow, so I'm not stressed or anything.
I guess I could get more things accomplished, like cleaning Trigger's cage, so maybe I'll steer myself from the computer....or just do another silly survey on myspace. Whatev.
Have a good night.
